Trailer Park: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"
by David Horiuchi
on June 29, 2010
Here's the first trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I of which opens in theaters on November 19, 2010, followed by Part II on July 15, 2011. This trailer mentions both parts so it's possible the scenes could be from both movies. If you're a Potter fan and recognize scenes that are probably in Part I or II (depending on where the break is, of course), let us know! --David

Voldemort and Harry do not appear together until very late in the book. All of the scenes with the two of them would be in Part II.

I seem to remember this was the part of the book in which Ron and Hermione endlessly wandered around Britain? If that is (mercifully) removed from the movie, it will be only about 45 minutes long. :-)

It's most certainly from both parts.

The scenes with Harry and Voldemort in the forrest are from very near the end of the second part.
The scene with ron and hermione running through the burning gold is probably the break-in at gringots, also in the second part.
It's fair to assume that there will be revisions to make the book fit, they cut quite a bit of minor content from earlier books that will hurt continuity with the story in this one. I'm sure they'll make it work.

There's also a shot of Harry and a goblin, presumably also from the Gringotts heist.
The two face-offs between Harry and Voldemort seem to lack all the other characters who were there in the book.

There's quite a lot of footage from the second movie here. Probabaly about half. All the scenes of Harry and Voldemort are from the end of the book and will be in the second movie. The only time the death eaters appear en masse with Volemort is in the forbidden forest which will also be in the second movie. There is a shot of protective spells breaking around Hogwarts (the one that looks like a golden forcefield failing) and that will be in the second movie, as will all the battle shots from Hogwarts. There are also a couple shots of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and even Draco in the room of Requirement with Fiend Fire, that will be from the second movie. There's a shot of Nagini, Voldemort's snake attacking Hermione at Bathilda Bagshot's house that will probably be in the second movie. Then there are some shots that could be in either movie, depending on where they make the break between the two.

The scene of Hermoine Harry and Ron laying on the ground of the Forest is from the First Part, after they escaped from the Ministry of Magic, but had to divert from Sirius' Home. Didn't see any wedding scene from the Burrow (can't say I can blame the producers, what after they destroyed it with fiendfire, who'd want to chance becoming toast?)
eaglewingz08 on July 04, 2010 at 04:45 PM
The scene of Nagini attacking Hermione would be in Part I, as the grapevine says the first movie will cut off when the Snatchers catch Hermione, Harry and Ron and transport them to the Malfoy Estate, which is well after the Christmas Day attack by Nagini at Bathilda Bagshot's (dec.)home. I don't recall any exposition in the book wherein Voldemort grabs Harry's face while both of them are conscious. It looks like the writers are again seriously tampering with the story, in making the last duel occur outside rather than in the Great Hall of Hogwarts. (Don't even ask how the wedding of Bill and Fleur could take place with the Burrow having been destroyed by fiend fire by three witches/wizards in HBP- despite the actual book stating the Burrow was magically protected by Dumbledore and the Order. Who would show up for such a wedding after such a brazen and successful attack anyway?)
The Dragon is from the break out from Gringott's Bank. Part II.
Hermione in the Red Dress is from Part I, after the wedding.
Harry on the ground yelling, Ron kill it, is from Part I, destruction of the locket horcrux.
The scene with Snape is Part II, either in the whomping willow, or as he is about to flee from Hogwarts.

Taco Liberty Bell: In 1996, Taco Bell took out a full-page advertisement in The New York Times announcing that they had purchased the Liberty Bell to "reduce the country''s debt" and renamed it the "Taco Liberty Bell." When asked about the sale, White House press secretary Mike McCurry replied with tongue-in-cheek that the Lincoln Memorial had also been sold and would henceforth be known as the Ford Lincoln Mercury Memorial.
