No. 3: Paranormal Activity ($20.2 million), No. 4: Couples Retreat ($17.9 million), No. 5: The Stepfather ($12.3 million)
GOTHAM AWARD NOMS: Kathryn Bigelow's indie hit The Hurt Locker topped nominations for the Gotham Independent Film Awards. Other noms for best feature include Big Fan and the Coen brothers' A Serious Man.
FEZ MEETS CESAR: "That '70s Show" star Wilmer Valderrama will play a character based on "Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan in a half-hour comedy developed by Fox.
A 'GLEE'-FUL REUNION: Broadway's "Spring Awakening" star Jonathan Groff will appear on Glee for five or six episodes, reuniting him with his "Awakening" co-star Lea Michele. Groff will play the lead male singer of rival choir Vocal Adrenaline and a potential love interest for Michele's Rachel. Joss Whedon is also set to direct a future episode. (EW.com)

LORELAI GILMORE RETURNS TO TV: Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham will fill in the role vacated by Maura Tierney in the NBC midseason series Parenthood. Tierney had to leave the show due to ongoing treatment from breast cancer. The showrunners reportedly approached Helen Hunt to take the role, but talks later fell apart. (EW.com)
