Red Carpet Battle

It all started demonstrations, rioting, and tear gas, but fortunately the atmosphere was more swanky than cranky at the Seattle International Film Festival, which opened last night with a red carpet promenade and the premiere of Stuart Townsend's film Battle in Seattle. (Battle in Seattle is a semi-fictional account of the WTO protests of 1999.) Stars Charlize Theron, Martin Henderson, Michelle Rodriguez, and André Benjamin (better known to some as André 3000 from Outkast) made the red carpet walk and chatted with locals, including a few Amazon editors. Video interviews are to come--in the meantime we wanted to share a couple of our favorite pics from the night. --Leah
